Okay screw this. Look at last years entry and make this a filler topup. A year ago, I wrote these below (and comments today in blue) -
In the next few 5 years I'm seeing myself to...
>> Check! Love it!
x
- have a wedding dinner (by end 2009)
>> Did it this year Sep 20th 2008!
x
- have a baby (by 2010)
>> Quit smoking for 2 weeks now and let's see what happens.
Being 28 is not that "old" I think, but I'm not feeling any young either. But at least I think it's probably a good idea to pen up a mini memoir of myself for the time being before I forget what have happened in the past 28 years of my life.
Just what the fuck was I saying last year?
During a chat this evening with our partner Deepak, CEO of Ace2Three India, he shared with us some cultural insights of Indian film productions. Deepak comes from a family that are involved in film production and distribution, so clearly his answers cannot be more valid that anyone else. In India, Bollywood is one of the largest film producers in the world and the largest in terms of films produced. Any 2 hour films in Bollywood can be produced from scratch in less than 4 months, and released with gross revenue at least 5 times its production cost.
Why is it in every Indian film, even till today, they still involve a lot of singing and dancing?
That's the recipe for a successful Indian movie.
5 songs
2 fights
1 sentimental ending
... it can never go wrong
Were there any successful Indian films that doesn't have musicals fitted into?
Yes.
We call that documentaries!
This is how ordinary homes turn into extraordinary black and white photo. Thanks to Raymond for his awesome camera toying with telescopic lenses.
I just had a big WTF moment!
Bugger with a pick up truck switched into my lane just, hit me, and ran away. And the best part is there wasn't enough time for me to recognize the make and registration number.
I was on my way to meet my printer in Kuchai Lama. I am having a headache now and I currently diverting my attention to my monitor to relax.
This is also the part you don't want to shoot with a SLR camera because SLR will make every ugly things look better.
I didn't realize that our apartment could actually turn into a beautiful studio, for taking shots, and not falling into those typical "Taiwanese" bridal studio standards. Victor Hew and his gf liked our apartment and he had fun shooting, well, us. However, for obvious reasons, we had to move our TVs and furnitures very often during the day in order to get the perfect shot.
I loved super wide angle lens. I couldn't believe how dramatic the effect it brought out through the pictures. Our 1000 sqft apartment suddenly seemed like a 2000 sqft. And of course we also experimented with "bokeh", silhouette, potraits, and many fun shots. Despite feeling tired with all the moving and shooting, the effort spent was well worth it.
NOT!
This blog has been on major hiatus ever since I have boarded to a new exciting job and moved my new apartment which gives no internet for 4 gruesome months. As a result, I have 4 highlights that require urgent escalation -
1. My wedding date is drawing closer
2. Routines has increased tenfolds with the absence of the internet at home
3. Then wedding preparation are, well, constrained by all the Benjamin's and also the excruciating workload from...
4. The new job that I have recently boarded
I stumbled Ken's Kutis post and that doesn't quite make me feel any better.
While there isn't anything to share about at the moment due to mental blocks for time consumed, it doesn't hurt to put up a song. I have always imagined that Earth Wind Fire's September and Daft Punk's Digital Love would have made a good mix, but I have NOT imagined that there are people on youtube that has already done it, and it's not amateur in my standards =)
